Overview
In research, tissue repair runs along three main axes: connective tissue has to be rebuilt, cells have to travel to the site of damage and form new vessels, and the accompanying inflammation has to subside. This mixture assigns one peptide to each axis and unites all three in equal parts in a single vial.
- BPC-157 (a pentadecapeptide) nudges the growth hormone receptors of tendon fibroblasts and speeds up connective tissue repair in models.
- TB-500 (the active segment of thymosin beta-4) governs actin polymerisation and thereby drives cell migration and angiogenesis.
- KPV (a tripeptide of lysine, proline and valine) acts against inflammation; this has been examined mainly in models of chronic inflammatory bowel disease and inflamed skin.
The idea behind it: rather than serving a single repair route, rebuilding, mobility and inflammation control are addressed at the same time.
One caveat belongs here. Each of the three molecules is reasonably well described on its own, whereas the three-way combination is young. How the peptides influence one another in a shared solution has been examined far less than any component by itself. Anyone working with the mixture transfers knowledge from three separate research lines onto a product that has hardly any data of its own. When you read the sources below, note that each paper deals with only one of the three peptides.
Risk notes
Each of the three components has a mild profile in the preclinical literature, and on current knowledge this carries over to the combination. What is missing are long-term human studies, for all three, as well as data on the triple mixture itself.
- Injection site: redness, a feeling of pressure or a brief irritation after subcutaneous administration, the most frequent observation.
- Circulation: isolated reports mention brief warmth, slight dizziness or tiredness right after administration.
- Angiogenesis via TB-500: because the peptide makes new vessels sprout in studies, there is a theoretical concern that pre-existing abnormal tissue could also be supplied. There is no evidence for this.
